Frequently Asked Questions

  • I currently live in Southern Pines, North Carolina.

  • I got you! Once you book with me I have an outfit guide I send out to all my couples that walks you through literally ANY outfit question you may have!

If you’re waiting to book with me, check out my style guide.

  • Most of us aren’t models, so it’s no surprise that the vast majority of people I meet say that they’re awkward in front of the camera or they never look good in photos. These are the same people that you now see filling the galleries on my website in my favorite images.

The piece of feedback I’ve probably received most over the years is that I was able to put everyone at ease and make them feel comfortable. Part of this is through my flexible, no stress and sometimes goofy approach to direction, and part of this is through working with people that I connect with. Yes, I absolutely provide direction wherever needed, but that doesn’t mean your photos are going to feel stiff or posed. Sometimes giving great direction means letting you know where to go, getting you to do something silly and capturing a REAL moment of laughter between the two of you amidst the pre-visualized composition I came up with.

  • Nope. It isn't fair to all my other fully paying clients to hand out discounts.

  • This depends on the time of year. Most clients will wait 2-4 weeks to get their photos, and I guarantee an absolute maximum of 60 days in my contract.

  • You don’t have to, but you sure can!

If printing elsewhere, I suggest using a real photo printing company vs. a supermarket/drug store. The advantage to printing through me - aside from accurate colors, contrast, and a matte finish - is that all prints, enlargements, books, Art Images and other products are always fully finalized.

  • Do bears sh!t in the woods?

Having started my career in action sports photography, I’ve shot in more than my share of bad weather. My equipment is weather-sealed and my rain jacket is ready, and I’m happy to help you figure out the additional challenges of unexpected weather.. I’m game if you are!

  • Portrait sessions can be rescheduled due to weather or illness. A 48-hour notice is appreciated. We’ll reschedule based on availability. Two non-weather-related reschedules are allowed, based on availability.
